Basics

Session A continues through October 26.  Session B starts the week of November 5th.  Registration forms will be mailed out to all enrolled skaters.  On site registration will be held Sunday, November 4th from 3:45-5pm at MAYSA.  Bring your friends and sign them up!

Nationals

Session A continues through October 26.  Session B starts the week of October 29th.  Be sure and fill out registration forms in a timely fashion!

Ice Show

Our one big show of the year will be held March 15 and 16th!  All skaters Snowplow Sam 1 and up are invited and encouraged to participate.  It’s a real club activity, so parents, friends, and other supporters of skating are needed to volunteer as well.  Participating skaters must skate in both Sessions B and C.  Registration forms will be coming in the mail.

Halloween Party!!

An all-club Halloween party will be held at MAYSA.  All skaters registered this session are free!  Your friends and relatives can also come, wearing costumes of course, and they can participate for $3 each.  Food and games will be provided.  Club families may be contacted to volunteer.  The party should be great fun—MAYSA, Sunday, October 28, 3:30-5pm.

Transitions

A great friend and supporter of the club has died.  Florence (Edie) Vandal was a long time MCFSC volunteer, and mother of Missy Vandal Barden, a long-time skater, member and coach.  Many thanks to her estate for a thoughtful memorial to the club.

Competitors

Chase Fishpaw and Clare Farrell competed in Lake Placid, New York August 1-5, 2008.  They placed 8th of 11 in senior compulsories, 7th of 12 in senior original dance, and 8th of 12 in senior free dance.  They competed in a field of three teams at the Challenge Cup in Ardmore, Pennsylvania in September, and placed second in compulsories, second in original dance, and third in free dance.  Their next competition will be the Eastern Sectional Championship in Raleigh, North Carolina November 15-17.

Fund Raisers for ALL Club Members

The Our Family fund raiser has been extended!  For every UPC barcode collected from an “Our Family” brand product, Nash Finch will donate 5 cents to the club.  It’s a great fund raiser, and one that we hope ALL skating families and friends will help out with. Right now, only about three families are supporting this effort—we can raise TWENTY TIMES more money for skating if we just clip those labels!  Bring those UPC barcodes in!  Give them to your coaches!  The fund raiser will extend through June 2008.  They can also be sent to the club at PO Box 735.
